Had the finest season of his 12-year career, finally breaking through with not only one but two titles including a Major… Snapped a 200-event winless streak by winning the 2007 Lake County Indiana Classic in Merrillville, Ind., for his first career laptop computers itle… Defeated rookie Todd Book, 194-192, in the semifinals before knocking off Wes Malott, 247-239, in the title match to snap one of the longest winless droughts on Tour… Just two months later, Haugen became just the second bowler in history to win his first PBA Tour title and the Tournament of Champions in the same season when he edged Chris Barnes, 215-214, to win the 2008 H&R Block Tournament of Champions… The top seed for the laptop accessories stepladder finals, Haugen seemed all but done in the sixth frame when he trailed by 52 pins, but he mounted one of the greatest comebacks in PBA Tour history, striking six consecutive times to put the pressure on Barnes; the eventual PBA Player of the Year had a chance to win with a strike on his first ball in the 10th and a chance to tie when he didn’t strike with his first ball, but he left the 4-pin, giving Haugen the stunning victory… The win would mark the end of Haugen’s season, however, as a finger injury caused him to withdraw from the final seven events of the season… Haugen did compete in the season-ending Motel 6 Roll to dell laptops Riches, his first appearance in the special event… All in all, Haugen established a career high in earnings ($101,820) and tied his career high with two championship round appearances… Finished tied for sixth in the PBA Player of the Year rankings.
